What a Great Event

The Riders are celebrating their 100th year as Saskatchewan’s Team and a special documentary is being released by one of our clients – Partners in Motion.

We’ve worked with the Riders for years and continue to work with them on their online store (www.shop.riderville.com) so we have a special interest in the club – although being interested in the Riders is hardly special in this province!

We’re also the hosting provider of both www.partnersinmotion.com and www.gyroproductions.com so when the invite came from Kit Mazurak I was honored and privileged to join the exclusive invitees for green popcorn, some refreshments and an evenings entertainment.

A very class event with the usual Rider mix of suits, ties, and jerseys – the MC was Rider Lineman Gene Makowsky who entertained the crowd before introducing current President Jim Hopson who talked about the Rider organization, the work that has gone into the centennial, and the pride that lives here.

The producer of the documentary then introduced the people that had worked on the film and the show began. It’s a great piece of history and done with the professionalism that people have come to expect from Partners in Motion and Gyro. The history of the Riders is entertaining and absorbing and it was neat to learn some of the small things that get lost in time. Piffles Taylor – for instance – lost an eye in the war and continued to play as quarterback for several years. The reel ran through the rise and fall and rise again of the Riders. The trials and tribulations – the heartbreak and the triumphs of Rider Nation and it definitely set the tone for the next 100 years.

Thanks to Partners in Motion for the invite and good luck to Rider Nation in their centennial year!
